About Greenville Literacy Association

Greenville Literacy Association has served the Greenville, South Carolina, community, and surrounding areas for over 50 years.

GLA is one of the largest community-based adult literacy programs in South Carolina.

GLA provides quality adult education in a flexible and comfortable environment. It is our goal to provide affordable and effective help for all people – no matter what your income or education level.

GLA also provides a safe, welcoming, multicultural space for students to learn, study, and collaborate. Helping adults improve their basic skills has a direct and measurable impact on both the education and quality of life of their children.

Greenville Literacy Association is a 501(c)(3) Community-Based Organization.

GLA is one of 5 non-profit literacy and adult education providers in South Carolina earning federal support and the only one in Greenville County.  As such, all programs are monitored for academic rigor and quality by the South Carolina Department of Education, Office of Adult Education.
