~ EARLY BIRD SALE~

For the first time, the Really Good, Really Big, Really Cheap Book Sale is adding an ‘Early Bird’ component to the event. The Early Bird sale will allow shoppers to pay $10 and enter the sale at 7:30 am on Saturday, August 21. Entry for Early Birds will be at the Flag Pole entrance located near Greenville Tech Admissions. Entry between 7:30 and 8:15 will be $10 per person for every individual over the age of 12. At 8:15, Early Bird entry sales will end and at 8:30 the book sale will open to the general public for free. Entry fee for the Early Bird sale can be paid by cash or check.

When can I pay the $10 to enter the sale? Book sale volunteers will start taking money for Early Bird entry at 7:00 am on Saturday, August 21 outside the Flag Pole entrance located near Greenville Tech admissions. A hand stamp will show that payment has been made and will be checked upon entry to the building. Volunteers will stop taking payment for the Early Bird sale at 8:15 in anticipation of the public sale starting at 8:30.
Do I have to complete my purchase before 8:30? Cashiers will be available at the Early Bird Entrance starting at 7:30 for your convenience. You do NOT have to finish your shopping by 8:30. Cashier stations at the other entrances will be available at 8:30.
My mother is in a wheelchair and wants me to bring her to the Early Bird Sale - do I still have to pay the fee to assist her? Yes, to be fair, every individual over the age of 12 will be required to pay the entry fee.
I want to have my check ready - who do I make it out to? All checks should be made out to Greenville Literacy Association.
Can I just pay for my entry fee and my books when I'm to check out? No, you will be required to pay the entry fee before going into the book area.
Can I come in any entrance for the Early Bird Sale? The only entrance that will be open at 7:30 is the 'Flag Pole' entrance. If you are looking at the front of McAlister Square, there are three entrances into the mall area - the entrance on the left near the University Center, the main middle entrance by Cesar's, and the entrance on the right near Greenville Tech Admissions that has the flag pole. This third entrance is the only one that will be open at 7:30. The other two will open at 8:30. The ‘Flag Pole’ entrance will be marked on Saturday morning with balloons.
Can I exit the book sale and re-enter before 8:30 once I have paid my fee? Yes, once you pay your entry fee, you will be able to leave and re-enter prior to 8:30 without paying another fee. Your hand will be stamped when you pay the $10 admission fee and this stamp will allow you to re-enter the sale.
Is the Early Bird Sale taking the place of the bag sale? No, we will still have the bag sale this year. All regular price purchases must be completed by 2:45. All shoppers will have to clear the book area and stand behind the cashiers to allow the volunteers to straighten the book tables and restock any discarded books. Each person will be given a bag that they can begin filling up at 3pm with books of their choice. Each bag will be $10.
