Greenville Literacy Association Community Partners

Helping adults improve their basic skills has a direct and measurable impact on both the education and quality of life of their children.  As a 501 (c) 3 Community Based Organization, a fundamental responsibility of the Greenville Literacy Association is to maintain a network of community partners to take adult literacy services to the most needy areas of Greenville County.

Greenville Literacy collaborates with other adult education providers in the community to offer particpants a sequential plan of study. Greenville Literacy provides instruction to beginning literacy level participants, while other community agencies, such as Lifelong Learning and the Early Childhood Family Learning Team at the School District of Greenville County, United Ministries, and Greenville Technical College, serve adults who are in high school diploma or GED tracks.  Greenville Tech then assists adults in advanced and vocational programs. With a spirit of collaboration, each adult is interviewed, assessed, and referred to the appropriate provider.

By becoming a partner with the OneStop Workforce Development System in 2003, Greenville Literacy is part of the community network to help displaced workers improve their job opportunities.
